Adel Abdessemed, Pigeon, 2016, Edition of 3

This large archival pigment print depicts a deer around which an explosive is attached. These prints are reminiscent of the artist’s video entitled Printemps, which shows chickens on fire. The violence, which is very present in the artist’s work, is a confrontation that breaks with norms. According to Abdessemed: “It’s the world that is violent, not me”.

Four leaves make up this print, adding a monumental dimension to the violence of the work.
